I haven’t been to Chapel St Leonards since I was about nine years old. My brother Bob and his wife Sandra took me there for a few days. We stayed at the Benvenute Hotel on the main square. I remember it being quite isolated with very few tourists and caravans, the beach was covered in jelly fish. Today the hotel is gone but the name still exists on one of the vast caravan parks.

Chapel St Leonards beach
This part of the coast is directly under a busy skyway. If you enlarge the pictures you will see that the sky looks constantly scratched by vapour trails. Kind of ironic that tourists looking for exotic beaches fly straight over beaches this beautiful and ruin a pristine sky in the process. If you enlarge the pictures you will see what I mean!
